About Us

So, who are we? That’s the big question in the existential sense, isn’t it? But more to the point, here’s a little bit about whose blogging here right now:

Mike Bauhof… is the web coordinator for KETC/Channel 9. In addition to his work on the Your Stories project he manages all online communications for the public television station. Mike has a long-standing interest in history, with the American Civil War being his main period of interest, thanks to all the books his dad had around the house that he swore he’d never read. His other enthusiasms include college football and spending as much time as possible with his wife and their two dogs.

Amy Shaw… is the vice president of education for KETC/Channel 9, the public television station serving the St. Louis region.  At KETC, Shaw is strategically expanding the station’s education and outreach services to fully engage community members, educators and learners at all levels to increase awareness of the power of public television beyond traditional broadcast.  In addition to her love of St. Louis and her family, Shaw is passionate about and the power of public media to open community connections.

Kate Shaw… is a public television producer for KETC/Channel 9 in St. Louis. In addition to her work with the Your Stories web archives, she is the associate producer of the Emmy award-winning magazine show, Living St. Louis. She is originally from Orange County, California but now lives in the Central West End of St. Louis.

Diane Poelker… is a communication major at Truman State University and is interning at KETC this summer. She credits her interest in World War II to her family history and her history-buff father. Diane’s other interests include coffee, cooking, news, traveling and water skiing.
